Enable or Disable Quick Launch In Windows 7

                      Windows 7 has several new features and some of old features of Windows vista and XP has been removed or disabled in windows 7. One such feature is Quick Launch which is by default disabled in windows 7. Quick Launch is used to open a program quickly from a shortcut on the taskbar with one click.

Since Many Windows users has been using Quick Launch bar from ages, Non availability of Quick launch in Windows 7 beta annoying them a lot. Well truly speaking this feature is still present in windows 7 beta but it has been disabled by default. Here is small guide how to enable and disable quick launch bar in windows 7.



For users who miss Quick Launch bar so much and want it back in Windows 7, Here is small guide which shows how to enable or disable quick launch bar in windows 7.

1.Right click on Windows 7 Taskbar, and point to Toolbars context menu item, and then select New Toolbar.



2.Browse to the following folder (easy way is to copy and paste to Address box to automatically navigate to):
%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch





3. Now you see the Quick Launch bar with the text on the rightside of the task bar. To hide the Quick Launch text and program titles, right-click Quick Launch, clear Show Text and Show title.



4. Drag the Quick Launch bar to the leftside of the task bar. If you cannot move the Quick Launch bar, right-click the taskbar again, and make sure that the Lock the taskbar option is cleared .
Tip: Move the cursor horizontally.




5. If you prefer big icons in the Quick Launch bar, right-click an empty area of the Quick Launch bar, point to View, and then click Large Icons.


6. To add a program in the Quick Launch bar, drag the desired icon to the Quick Launch bar.
