UltimateDefrag

Speed Up PC Performance - UltimateDefrag

UltimateDefrag is revolutionary defrag software that not only lets you defrag, but also considers a more important phenomenon, and that is, the placement of files and folders on your hard drive.

With UltimateDefrag you can place the files you want the best performance from onto the faster areas of your hard drive and also get all of your unused data right out of the way and repositioned onto the slower areas of your hard drive in order to make way for the data that you want to place in the “hot” sections of your hard drive where performance is greatest.

UltimateDefrag also provides the first true disk display metaphor in a defragger. UltimateDefrag can place Directories next to your MFT for very fast MFT/Directory transactions. This alone vastly accelerates performance of your hard drive.

This utility is compatible with Windows XP and Vista and performs a more thorough job than the standard windows defrag.

Specifications
Supported Operating System: Windows 2K, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP
File Size: 2.2 MB
File System: FAT32 and NTFS

Windows 7 services: Remote Registry service

Description:

You can modify your registry settings remotely. Most users will not need this for home use, so you can safely disable it. It does have its uses, but not a necessary part of any desktop. You may see this as a potential security hole, as if anyone got access to it, you are done for.

Don't save encrypted webpages

Encrypted webpage does ask for usernames and passwords. These pages scramble information to prevent the reading of this sensitive information. You can define Internet Explorer to not save these types of pages. You'll free up space by saving fewer files to your computer, in addition to keeping secure information off of your computer.

To not save encrypted WebPages:

1. In Internet Explorer--> Click on the Tools menu--> click Internet Options.

2. In the Internet Options dialog box--> click the advanced tab.

3. In the Settings section--> scroll down to the Security section. Select the Do not save encrypted pages to disk option check box--> Click OK.
