Speed Up Windows 7 - Adjust the number of Cores

Windows 7 uses only one type of Core for the booting process. By changing the number of Core used, you can reduce the booting time and can Speed Up Windows 7 Performance.

How to Adjust Number of Cores?

  • Press Start and enter msconfig in "Search programs and files"

  • You will get msconfig.exe in the list.

  • Double Click on that and this will open "System Configuartion Utility"

  • Click the Boot tab and Select Advanced

  • Check the number of processor cores you have and input the amount (usually 2, 4 or 8)

  • Click OK and then Apply

  • Now it will ask for Restart. Restart the System and this time you will experience fast boot.
