Alerter

Alerter

What is Alerter?

The Alerter service is a Microsoft Windows service which is used to send administrative alerts. It alerts users about security, access, and user session problems. Alert messages are sent from a server to a client computer, and the Messenger service must be running on the client computer for the user to receive alert messages.

Importance of Alerter:

It will notifies selected users and computers of administrative alerts. If the service is stopped, programs that use administrative alerts will not receive them. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Status:

Default Status: Manual
Recommended Status: Disabled (For Home users - if the alerts are not needed.)
If you're part of a network that sends and receives administrative alerts this service is for you.
